I have a CTL 70 GHEL that I want to put a dozer type blade on. I have seen several of these for sale online for 3000 plus with the 6 way option. I am however thinking I would just build it as a straight bucket and wait till i can find a used Bob Tach rotator. I think from the blades I have seen it needs to be really heavy. I really want to make my own skid steer plow and add the features that I want. I have a few questions however: What is the best way to go with down pressure? I want to make the plow semi rigid like on a spring or coil over strut. Or just make it hang on a chain? Ideas? And for all you guys with skid steer plows two things.

Apr 8, 2012. This is a preview of my 6 way home made dozer blade. Was a 42" Wheel Horse blade that I added 6" to both sides to make it 54". Then I made it power angle. Two nights ago I got the bright idea to use an old unit hub off my 2500 chevy to make it a 6 way. Looking for ideas to make a easily removable blade to go on the front of a crawler loader. Any suggestions? I'm sure someone here has done this already and wanted to see some pics if available. Dozer blades on skid steers, and any type of skid steer, are useless, there isn't enough weight on the front to really provide good digging. Use the bucket instead, it gives you more weight up front when it's loaded and you can keep digging and pushing in the same slot, that makes it very productive.
