Let's explain the "drain line" a bit first. Your drive motor is a hydraulic piston type and all motors of this type by design leak internally by a small amount. The "case drain" line is to take this leaked oil from inside the motor case back to the hydraulic tank.. The unit feels like the hydraulics are -20C at all times - 1/2 second delay on responsiveness (at least) making it almost a danger on the jobsite; Cat has updated the software without effect. Traction is far below par up here in the canadian snow (stuck in 3" snow on a 10% grade); not to mention the new body and cab seem to be made out of tin foil.
I can see the actuator move about 75% and just stop. I am not sure if some thing is wrong with the actuator or does it just not have enough power to pull a stuck pin out. I have never owned a machine with hydraulic quick connects so I am not sure where to start, besides spraying the pins with pb spray and cycling hydraulics. A user posts a problem with a 2001 cat 246 skid loader that shuts off when the key returns to on. Another user suggests testing the pump solenoid and the key switch with a test light.
1/ lift the cab hook a LED test light across one of the aux solenoid coils with enough lead to reach the in to the cab with the back in its lowered position operate the machine and check the status of the test light if it comes on while operating the . Update to problem. Finally got to spend some dedicated time on unit , found no hydraulic pressure coming from tool pump, but pressure from aux pump. That was a little misleading because cooling fan was running. I assumed tool pressure was present. My bad. A user asks for help with the brush cutter attachment on a CAT 236B skidsteer. A senior member replies with the manual link and the operator controls section.
