We are looking at a very large purchase in buying a mini excavator and were wondering if the benefits of going with a CAT are better than going with a Kubota.

The cab-and-engine unit, in other words, has a diameter smaller than the width and length of the crawler unit beneath. I've been offered a CAT 302.5 mini excavator by a friend who is packing up. The price is great (no quibble there), but having used the machine a couple of times long ago, my impression of it wasn't as good as our existing Case CK28 (even though the case is . The CAT will give you a better cab, and the ability to dial in your aux. flows if that is important to you. I don't think Kubota has that ability yet. That to me would be enough to tip it toward the Cat.
I am thinking about purchasing a Hyundai Mini Excavator model R17Z-9A for digging small ponds and stumps and planting large trees. What are your thoughts on this Manufacture?
