When the engine starts the parking brake and the man with the seatbelt flash and I can't get them to turn off in order to move the machine.See Troubleshooting, "Parking Brake Indicator Is Flashing" or Troubleshooting, "Armrest Indicator Is Flashing". Stop. •NOT OK - The resistance is considerably greater than 11 Ohms. I've pulled the plug to the parking break solenoid and it's not getting voltage to it when the button is pressed. When voltage gets sent to the solenoid it shifts out of park. I'm imagining whatever code it's throwing is telling it not to shift out of park.Press and release the parking brake switch. Note: Two people will need to perform this procedure. One person will need to be sitting in the seat with the armrest in the DOWN position.
The door, seat and armrest switches are working and the lift arms and bucket hydraulics will activate but the park brake won't release. I believe it is either the switch, the park brake solenoid, or the harness (no sign of damage to the harness).

They quoted me 5 to replace the parking brake solenoid and manifold. I have only 4 volts on the plug to the parking brake on my CAT242D 2012 Cat skid steer parking brake. Fix the seat and On some of the Caterpillar drive motors I worked on, the parking brake was spring applied, hydraulically released. On the center of the brake cover, there would be a plug, through which a puller bolt could be installed to compress the spring, & release the brake. When starting the machine, turning the key on all lights light up then when functioning normally parking light stay on and switch functions after starting.
Have a cat 287b that seems too not be releasing the parking brake. The light goes off on the monitor but when you go too move the skidsteer it makes this terrible screeching noise and won't hardly go.
