The engine over heat dummy light came on the other day when I first started the machine just to move it over and stays lit when the engine has not even reached operating temp. Just purchased a 2005 Cat 252b with just under 2000 hours serviced by a dealer. Took it home and ran it for less than an hour and temp light turned on, I immediately shut it off, it was low on coolent.Drive system keeps overheating Insufficient hydraulic fluid - Checking hydraulic fluid level and add if necessary. Dirty hydraulic fluid filter - Check, clean, or replace as required.
