No to the oil- but we may have the fix. Talked to a mechanic today that said to check the hose coming off of the turbo on the exhaust side. If it has oil in it, bad turbo. If it has coolant in it, leaking head gasket on the exhaust side. Based off of the coolant smell and white smoke, we're guessing #2. It doesn't smell like burning oil. When cranking it has some white smoke but doesnt fire. I was suspecting air in the fuel system as the rubber fuel line from the tank was cracking. That is now replaced and the system was bleed out. If you are adding oil and if you have signs of oil coming out of the crankcase vent or blow-by tube, it leans towards excessive blow-by in the engine caused by either a piston or ring problem, or possible head gasket issue. You can have a blow-by test done by your local Dealer or any shop that does have a blow-by meter. Just picked up a Cat 232B skid loader, I found the duct from the air filter to the turbo had come loose after the operator said it was hard to start. While trying to start it, there was plenty of black smoke.
