Customer: I am having trouble starting my JCB 185 skid steer. It has a Perkins diesel engine. It is a 1999. It always starts but real slow. I put in a new battery and it turns over faster but now it doesn't start. Should I have the throttle all the way full or all the way back?
I'm on third JCB skid steer and the first two I put 600 hours on each and the only problem I had was the high limit switch for the AC went bad on one. The new 3TS has 50 hours on it now and I've had some minor issues with it. The problem that arises is that the drive motors ( one on each side) that drive the two wheels on each side are face mounted to the side plates with the nose sticking through the hole and into the box section of the frame that the drive end of the wheel spindles are also in. Learn about the common issues that may affect the JCB Skid Steer loader, such as 'O' rings, seals and gasket failure, engine faults, air conditioning problems, hydraulic issues and control system failures. Find out how to troubleshoot and avoid these problems with regular maintenance and inspection.
I have a Cat skid steer with swinging door. I climb/jump over a pallet fork attachment or worse yet, get out under the boom over and over and over. The door is a pain and is removed most of the time. Was trying to get my JCB Robot working again, havn't used it in about a year.. I got it started up, worked the boom a little, drove it a little bit then it stopped moving but the engine still worked. Currently starts on first crank but once started no movement or boom controls work.
A local dairy had 3 skid loader and always had one or 2 broke down. They run case now. We have a 04 fastrack tractor that is great when it runs. Hydraulic solinods are the biggest problem and using small wiring for the whole machine. Replacing with leds lights helped with some problems. Service isn't very good and parts are very overpriced.
