here’s specific one. iowa farmer. Lots of forest. I do a ton with forestry (mulching, sheers, spade, tree puller). I also do a lot with minor dirt work, augers, fencing, etc. I’d call my skid steer needs: >50% forestry. Do too many other things to need a dedicated machine. Will run Vail mulcher which is amazing. Max hp and torque you can get. GPM and pressure should be around 37-39 and 3300-4000 psi. I've owned the new CAT C series machine and 2 Bobcat K series (s300 and s330) and used all of them with CAT (FAE) mulching head. Those full width skid steer mounted ones look like they would be hard on the machine. The mulchers on excavators seem like the way to go as long as the head is sized for the flow and cooling capacity available. It would not take a very big mulcher to whack down a bunch of stuff. The first ones arrived with a leaking hydraulic hose that Marshall to me to just "go get fixed". The hydraulic seals blew out after 20 or so hours on that saw. The second saw blew out after about 2 hours.
For a little more money, I could set you up and ready for business with my FTX140 that would include 2 working mulcher heads, one parts head, stump grinder attachment, extra teeth, filters, misc new parts, new rails and sprockets on a skid and tons of extra parts from a burnt machine. It also has a new, updated mulcher pump with less than 50 hours.

You could also use a 100hp class skid steer loader but I find a tractor is a lot easier on the driver . Your machines must be versatile these days , one machine must be able to multi task otherwise you will need to employ extra people , transport extra machinery , fuel , register , maintain and pay for extra machinery .
