I built a grapple utility bucket from components for a utility grapple bucket originally designed for small skid steer loaders that our company produces. I built my own quick attach plates after getting the top clevis and JD dealer. I take the grapple off when I want to use the bucket as a pallet fork depending on what I need to pick up with it.Step 1: Remove Bucket Pins and Install Face Plate. When you’re changing from a pin-on bucket to quick attach, the first step is easy if the bucket pins have been greased on a regular basis. Put the tractor on a level surface and remove the pins that hold the bucket on. Back the tractor up while not changing the height or angle of the loader arms. #3. You have the right idea for shape, i have seen them with teeth on the sides to help cut through the roots. If you wanted it to keep its edge, welding hard facing to the sides would help too.
