1700 owatonna skid steer wont turn I have an old Mustang 1700 skidsteer with the v-4 Ford liquid cooled engine and variable speed drive. I had an issue where something is wrong with the output shaft that . My issue; I just picked up a Bobcat 331, s/n 234314211, with just shy of 1900 hours on it. I've had an intermittent issue where the boom cylinder refuses to move. Today it was very stubborn, and after a few starts and some troubleshooting, I was able to get it to raise. but it won't go back down.

Turns over fine and has spark.
I have some cluth problems and someone else was working on this machine prior to me. I don't know how to put back together the right way. It will not turn, it is like it is fighting itself. I even tried pushing forward on one handle and pulling back on the other at same time. does not work. My 1970"s Owatonna 1700 skidloader will not tilt it"s bucket or lift. Do you think the hydraulic filter is clogged or ?? It moves forward and back fine. Thanks in advance for your help.

I have loosened one of the injector lines and it is getting fuel to the injector but now it won't even smoke when I turn it over.Posted March 28, 2006.
