I have recently acquired a early 1970's Ford 340 skid steer/ compact tractor, serial number 2336 with a 4 cylinder Wisconsin engine. I am a vintage car guy and have never used a machine like this, but it has an engine and what the heck, never to old to learn new things.
If that is the case, you can safely deduce that the 340 is the model number, because you are dealing with a "CL340" skid steer. The 2050 is going to be the machine serial number. As they were only made for two or three years, there is probably no technical reason to know what year it was made.
