I took the front body cladding off to get a better look at the issue but I can't isolate the issue from the front or rear of the unit.
I have a Case 1835 diesel and have an oil leak that I've narrowed down to one of the variable displacement pumps (the rear one of course). I have removed the pumps and the control valve (it may be called a shutter valve?) appears to have an o-ring seal behind a clip and washer..I think that's the culprit. I have a case 1835b that I purchased this fall I knew it needed work, but now I'm at a stand still. Before I did anything to it, it had a bad leak, but I couldn't track it down. I have since replaced almost every hose underneath and replaced both drive motors and filters.

Oil leaks from hydraulic cylinder - Change cylinder piston seals. Low hydraulic oil level - Need to add oil. Faulty or incorrect setting hydraulic control valve - Repair or adjust properly.
I have a Case 1835 Diesel that I have owned for some 15 Years. Its been a good machine all I have done is change Oil and Filters, one drive Motor, and couple of Starter solenoids. When I got the machine the Hyds sounded terrible and the Oil looked even worse. Working on the new skid loader today. Case 1835b. Has hydraulic leak. Going to track it down!
The machine will do it when the oil is hot or cold, and the syptoms do not change with operating tempature. I talked to a couple of hydro shops, and one suggested swapping the relief valves to see if the problem showed up some where else - I tryed that and it didn't work.

I purchased a Case 1835B Skid Steer in which the owner was not sure what was wrong with it, allegedly. He said he thought it might not be getting any fuel. I am outlining my steps taken thus far in testing it out.
I believe a way to check if the drive motor is leaking is to jack the skid steer up on blocks, and remove the wheels and the drive motor.
