All the nursery locally use skid steers is why those came to mind. Our location will be more of a retail location with ball and burlap trees, I will have these partially dug into the ground until sold. I will also be selling pallets of fertilizer and pavers so ideally I need quite a bit of lifting power. 2500lbs ish. . Hey im having trouble with starting a Case 1840, when I go to start it all I get is this clicking sound, im guessing its got something to do with the starter motor, the thing is I had just arc welded the muffler tip back on, I disconnected the battery so I figured it wasnt a problem its not like I connected the clamp to one side of the bobcat and welded on the other any way . Looking for advice on a mini skid. I have a s160 and it works perfect for 70% of my landscaping installs (gravel, mulch, sod, patios, boulders, etc). Most access is around that 6 ft mark which is why I have this size. The other 30% I need a smaller width machine, 3ft. well im thinking of purchasing a 2001 case 1840 skid steer it has 5700 hours on it which seems like alot the guy states that it has a new pumps and always fires right up. Was mainly used for snow and some landscaping. hes has 6800 obo for the price it doesnt seem to bad if everything works like it should.

I was looking at the mclaren industries tracks for it, however today a friend of mine told me these will destroy your skid steer. This doesn't make much sense to me, I would think if this were the case no one would use them. Is there any truth to this?
